This activity is an intriguing
project to be involved in. It explores the history of Canford School
Pupils who gave their lives in the Second World War. 138 pupils
who courageously marched off to war and were killed are bought back
to life, (metaphorically, of course) in a special tribute thanks
to “Spirit of Place”.
With the help of our fantastic History teachers, pupils are hunting
down evidence and facts that piece together to tell us the stories
of Old Canfordians who went off to the War and never returned. The
pupils are searching the internet and shuffling through the school
archives to investigate the topic and put together an exhibition
that will be displayed on Speech Day for everyone to see. This aims
to be a fascinating way to improve the pupil’s investigatory
abilities as well as improve their knowledge on key areas of history.
